I am a plan ahead type of person. Over the years I have worked at being a bit more ‘go with it’ in relation to overnight staying while traveling in the camper. The bonus of this is you unexpectedly end up in some neat places. The negative is sometimes you have difficulty finding a free place to stay, or even a pay place to stay, overnight.
I follow a website called RV Parky that helps find overnight places to stay. One can select pay sites, or freebies, such as a Walmart parking lot. For Walmart’s I also check the sites that talk specifically about those that allow and don’t allow overnighting. In traveling yesterday all Sites stated that this Santa Fe Walmart on allowed overnight parking. Even a post a week and a half ago said they spent the night with no problems. Well that is no longer the case at this Herrera Drive Santa Fe Walmart. They have a new manager who dislikes RVs and overnight trucks. So the first time I’ve been kicked out of a Walmart.
I headed to Albuquerque and spent the night in a FlyingJ Truck Stop. Got very lucky and found a spot in their RV parking section that didn’t have a bunch of trucks night idling. The space was almost level!
It snowed overnight in the high desert country. Very pretty to wake up to.
